Fabulous!! All of Leisl’s books are wonderful, but this one takes the cake, or maybe the ruby! I loved that the story was told from Grumpy the dwarf, as opposed to Snow White. A must read for anyone who enjoyed fractures fairy tales!

I decided to order this book after reading a blog review. It came super fast with free shipping as I didn't spend the extra to order faster shipping.Some unusual twists on dwarves in general and the 7 dwarves in particular. I finished reading it within 4.5 hours after I opened the book. Would have been faster, but I took some breaks. Easy to read and great for young and not so young.

This book was a wonderful read aloud. My kids loved it. Basically these books give a background to classical fairytale stories. This book the kids had to really listen to figure out which dwarf had what name.

Another beautiful story by Liesl Shurtliff. I loved Grump quirkiness and out of the ordinary way of thinking. Even though most people around him didn't understand or appreciate his grumpiness, I absolutely adored him. He reminds me of so many students, which brings a smile to my face.

A great book that serves as a nice prequel to the others in the series. My one nitpick would be the beardless dwarf on the cover illustration:}

My son loves this author and the new versions of old stories; he read through them by himself and now we are re-reading them together b/c they are so much fun!

These books are so much fun to read aloud to my kids. We have loved them all!

I enjoyed reading this book cover to cover. The author did a spectacular job when writing details! A movie played through my mind the entire book. I’m excited to put this book in my classroom library.
